2023 has been another year of growth here at Holland Family Law East Midlands as we celebrate our sixth year in business. More new, and familiar, faces have joined the team, while we said goodbye to others. Plus, we’ve relocated and announced Jennifer McNeil as a director of the firm. Thank you for your support.
Sushi anyone?
To celebrate the sixth anniversary of our launch, the Holland Family Law team enjoyed a wonderful sushi making session and Japanese history class thanks to Three Little Birds Events based in Desford, Leicestershire.
The team really got stuck into making all types of sushi to take home and share with their families. There were plenty of smiles, lots of fun, and we also got to sample some of their dreamy handmade chocolates. It really was an all-round great day.
Jennifer McNeil becomes Holland Family Law East Midlands Director
In June 2023, Holland Family Law East Midlands announced Jennifer McNeil as a Director of the firm. Jennifer joined the HFL team in June 2020 as a Senior Family Solicitor, becoming a partner in August 2021. Her skills and experience have proven to be invaluable to the people we serve.
She has overseen some complex cases during her time with HFL. Her ability to support people through some of the most challenging times in their lives has been widely commended by clients and colleagues alike. Jennifer has been a great asset to the firm and will continue to thrive in her new role.
Louise Hill promoted to Senior Paralegal & Office Manager
What can we say about Louise. She’s the one that keeps the HFL team in check, and she deservedly earned a promotion to Senior Paralegal and Office Manager earlier this year. See, she’s so good she can do two jobs.
Louise joined the HFL legal practice as a Paralegal in 2021 having worked in law firms for more than 17 years. She helps us to run a tight ship and is on top of every case that we manage. We couldn’t be without her.
Chloe Shipley joins the HFL crew
As if the arrival of 2023 wasn’t enough, the New Year marked the arrival of Chloe Shipley as a Senior Family Law Solicitor. She would be the first of many new faces through Holland Family Law’s doors as the team continues to grow. Having worked in family law since 2005, Chloe has a strong background in all areas of family law, which include divorce, matrimonial finances, and child matters.
Alexandra Kelly joins the team
In February 2023, Alexandra Kelly joined the HFL East Midlands team, bringing with her many years of experience in all areas of private family law, but in particular Children Act matters and domestic violence cases. Alex has settled in really well with the team, and clients and colleagues alike are already benefiting from her expertise.
Holland Family Law East Midlands welcomes Claire Havers to the team
In April 2023, we welcomed Claire Havers into the Holland Family Law East Midlands team as a Legal Secretary. Claire serves as one of the first touchpoints for our clients, while supporting the firm’s family lawyers with general day-to-day duties. She is the engine room of our entire legal practice.
Zoe Holmes rejoins Holland Family Law
In February 2022, Zoe Holmes left Holland Family Law a Paralegal, but eighteen months later she’s back and in a new role as Legal Case Manager. She obviously missed us ????. On a serious note, it’s great to have Zoe back at the firm. Her legal experience is a valuable support to the team and our clients.
We said goodbye to Adam Markillie-Mallinson
Earlier this year we said goodbye to Adam Markillie-Mallinson who retired to sunny Spain. All those who worked with Adam and benefited from his experience describe him as a ‘constant support and encouragement’. No truer words have been spoken. He truly was a valued member of the HFL team, and while he is missed, we wish him a very happy retirement.
We relocated
Since we celebrated our five-year anniversary in 2022, Holland Family Law East Midlands has relocated to the stunning Coach House at Desford Hall. Surrounded by beautiful scenery, our new home eased the stress of what was a big move.
The HFL team now enjoys stunning vistas right outside the windows while taking in the beauty of the Desford Hall grounds when stepping out for lunch or a quick break. Just six miles from central Leicester, our clients enjoy visiting us on-site too. We truly are blessed to be located in such a terrific location.
And what of Claire Holland, the woman who started it all?
With Jennifer becoming a director of Holland Family Law East Midlands, Claire’s role has changed (ever so slightly). She is now Managing Director of the firm, and her focus is on managing the business, which includes general business development, advertising, and marketing. Plus, she oversees all the firm’s accounting tasks.
Claire is still very much involved in case management too, offering guidance to her fellow colleagues to ensure that clients continue to get the best possible family law advice and support.
A season of strengthening
As a team, we have grown. And not just in numbers. We have developed a strong bond to give our clients the best possible service, which is why our stature as one of the best family law firms in Leicester and the East Midlands has risen over the past 12 months.
More people trust us during some of the most challenging times of their lives, and we’re honoured to be able to serve the East Midlands community. We’re extremely thankful to our clients for choosing us, especially when that first call to a family lawyer is one of the toughest things to do.
Equally, we are continuously grateful to everyone who has supported Holland Family Law East Midlands at every stage of our journey – we couldn’t do it without you. To be where we are as an independent, local family law firm is simply extraordinary.
