It’s been a turbulent few months at Holland Family Law headquarters amid the coronavirus pandemic. We’ve had to adapt the way we work, but thankfully there’s ‘light at the end of the tunnel’. It’s been all change on the personnel front, too and we’re delighted to welcome our new, senior family solicitor, Jennifer McNeil.
How Jennifer can help with your family law case
Jennifer is a Resolution accredited family law specialist, sharing Holland Family Law’s values of working to resolve family disputes constructively.
With more than 14 years of experience dealing with divorce cases, spousal and cohabitee financial disputes and child arrangement disputes – including international relocation work and recovery of a child following unlawful removal, Jennifer offers Holland Family Law clients specialist, practical support – even in the most complex of cases.
Jennifer grew up in Derbyshire, but moved to Leicester to study Law and Psychology at De Montfort University. Jennifer decided to specialise in family law when a barrister friend encouraged her to pursue a work experience opportunity with a Leicester-based family law firm. It was here that Jennifer quickly discovered she had a preference for family law.
Prior to joining Holland Family Law as a senior family solicitor, Jennifer served as a partner at a well-respected family law firm in Leicester, demonstrating the calibre of her skills.
Holland Family Law director, Claire Holland, said: “I am delighted that a family law solicitor of Jennifer’s standard has joined the Holland Family Law team.
“Her skills and experience will serve our law firm’s clients very well. With the pandemic, the fact that we’ve been able to attract a high-profile specialist to the team is evidence that we’re going in the right direction after an uncertain few months.
“Our recruitment doesn’t stop with Jennifer either. Holland Family Law is currently interviewing other solicitors and paralegals with a view to add to the team as our caseload increases. Despite the uncertainty, there’s a tinge of excitement going forward.”
Outside family law
Jennifer is married and has a daughter. She also has, in her own words, ‘a very boisterous cat.’ She loves nothing more than spending time with friends and family, but admits many get-togethers revolve around babies and food.
Advice on choosing a family lawyer
Jennifer recently featured in the Spring Edition of Leicester’s Dluxe Magazine. She was interviewed as part of a focus feature on Women in Business. When asked what those seeking family law advice should look for in a family lawyer, Jennifer said: “Family matters can be incredibly stressful and emotionally charged.
“It’s best to find a family lawyer who is trained to give objective advice, rather than diving in and potentially making matters worse. Resolution-trained lawyers are always the best as they have to pass multiple exams to demonstrate that they are specialists in diffusing and not antagonising what already is a difficult situation.”
